The idea for Fifty/fifty Collective came from my own experience of having a child and seeing first hand how quickly they outgrow their clothing. And in most cases it is very lightly worn or never worn at all.
People are buying new clothing and at an alarming rate and throwing those clothes away not long after. We live in a consumer culture where generally speaking, more is more. Don't get me wrong, I indulge in the latest fast fashion from time to time, but we can all make an effort to consume less new items. By buying a resale or vintage item you are breaking the cycle of buying something new with each child. So in other words reduce, reuse, recycle. And it's better for our bank account as well!
Fifty Fifty Collective was born out of this ethos and we hope to attract a community of like minded individuals. The collective idea is about creating a community of people looking to buy and sell contemporary, fashion forward clothing in an accessible way. I am looking forward to growing this community of customers and consignors. Let's build a mutually beneficial and sustainable future together.
